About Association of Building Compliance

Upcoming Events

The Association of Building Compliance have regularly scheduled member meetings to enable general networking and education between members. These meetings are currently held in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch.

All fully paid up members that attend these meetings will receive an attendance certificate to show continued professional development. The Association welcomes new people and invites those interested in becoming members to attend one member meeting to gauge their interest. Should they wish to attend further ABC member meetings then they will be required to join the Association.

Auckland TrainUP - Thursday 1 August 2019

Time: 7.30am - 9.30am

Location: Royal Oak Bowling Club, Selwyn Street, Onehunga (Get Directions)

Topic and Speaker:  Jason Dyer, Special Hazard NZ :  The Australian Standard for gaseous fire protection systems AS14520:2009 commonly used for gaseous fire suppression systems in NZ has recently been superseded by AS5214:2018.  Now would be a good time to remind those involved with these involved  with the installation, maintenance and ongoing IQP certificate of these systems of the requirements and of key items to watch out for.


The Association will also update on the recent meeting held with Auckland Council regarding audits and compliance schedules etc.

Christchurch TrainUP - 6 August 2019

Time: 8.30am - 10.30am

Location: Rangiora Town Hall, Cnr King and High Street, Rangiora (Get Directions)

Brian Wilson - Christchurch City Council.  Brian will cover - Review the IMR inter-year records against the compliance schedule (building owner/Agent/IQP) to have these ready and available, Questions and answers - general guidance and feedbac, Display a BWOF (Form 12), Rapid walk through the building - checking MOE and specified systems against issued compliance schedule and time permitting will also go over some of the results of the 2018/2019 Audit year.


Raewyn Kinnis, FFP - will discuss what forms shojuld be on display in your building.
