Margie Cook

ABCIQP Team {tag_name_nolink} / Management Team at Association of Building Compliance New Zealand

Margie was born and raised in Zimbabwe moving to Christchurch New Zealand in 2002 to start a new life.  Her work background is in accountancy and administration with a touch of retail, marketing and customer services.

Margie Cook is an experienced BWOF Administrator having worked both at Local Council level and with a commercial building compliance company.  ABC Tech is able to offer Margie’s services to ABC members anywhere in New Zealand, to train BWOF administration staff to process warrant s of fitness and to offer support to Councils with processing Form 11s and checking BWOFs as they are submitted by the building owners/agents.

Margie’s 6 years at Christchurch City Council covered the whole building lifeline from lodging to issuance of building consents, then on the team auditing and issuing Code Compliance Certificates and Certificates for Public Use. This was followed by her appointment as a building official for the BWOF team which involved processing Form 11s, writing and amending Compliance Schedules and carrying out on-site audits.

Margie loves that New Zealand has a Warrant of Fitness regime for their buildings and is enthusiastic about educating building owners and tenants.

Margie is married to a builder and has 2 grown up girls one of whom lives in Austin, Texas and the other in Christchurch.
