About Association of Building Compliance

Membership Information

The Association of Building Compliance welcomes new members. 

The Association is currently the only IQP representation body in New Zealand and it is imperative that it continues to grow and become a strong voice. We have support from the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE), the Minister of Building Housing and the regulating authorities involved in the industry.

 

With continuing changes to legislation and the associated operation requirements, we need to have a strong and effective Association that not only provides high calibre education and training, but where we can also lobby to influence and overcome the many challenges we face both now and in the future.

Membership Categories

Membership consists of Premier Corporate, Corporate Multiple, Corporate Single, Associate Corporate, Associate Single, and Affiliate.  


PREMIER CORPORATE


The Premier Corporate membership is best suited to a Company or Organisation who participates in the process of providing a Building Warrant of Fitness or a company/corporate approved by the Committee. The minimum requirement is evidence of knowledge of building codes, standards and the New Zealand Building Act (as required through Council IQP registration requirements). There are only 4 Premier Membership packages available.  This package is designed and built in consultation with the member company to ensure it specifically meets your requirements.  

Corporate multiple


The Corporate Multiple membership is best suited to a Company or Organisation who participates in the process of providing a Building Warrant of Fitness or a company/corporate approved by the Committee.  The minimum requirement is evidence of knowledge of building codes, standards and the New Zealand Building Act (as required through Council IQP registration requirements).  This membership includes three individual members nationwide from one organisation with the ability to exchange current paid up members with new staff as and when required.  Additional individuals are able to be added to the Corporate Multiple Memberships.

The Corporate Single membership is best suited to a company or organisation who participates in the process of providing a Building Warrant of Fitness or a company/corporate approved by the Committee.  The minimum requirement is evidence of knowledge of building codes, Standards and the New Zealand Building Act (as required through Council IQP registration requirements).  This membership is for a minimum of 1-2 paid up members nationwide from one organisation with the ability to exchange current paid up members with new staff as and when required.

The Associate Corporate membership is best suited to a company or organisation who participates in or has an interest in the compliance of a building but are not involved in the Building Warrant of Fitness process.  This membership is for a minimum of 3 paid up members nationwide from one organisation with the ability to exchange current paid up members with new staff as and when required.  This membership also provides the ability for additional paid-up members to be added to this membership category.

ASSOCIATE single

The Associate Single membership is best suited a company or organisation who participates in or has an interest in the compliance of a building but are not involved in the Building Warrant of Fitness process.  This membership is for a minimum of 1-2 paid up members nationwide from one organisation with the ability to exchange current paid up members with new staff as and when required.

affiliate

This membership is best suited to Councils or Government departments whose staff are involved in Building Compliance and not for profit organisations who have an interest or involvement in the Building Compliance regime.

  • Educate – train and inform to avoid doubt for the industry at all times
  • Support – encourage and provide guidelines for the industry.
  • Foster relationships and strategies with Territorial Authorities, Government Agencies, New Zealand Fire Service and other agencies and associations that will provide information and support.
