Buildings are designed well for people to enter them, however, the evacuation of them in the event of an emergency often sees some people having better access than others - why is the means of escape in an emergency not equitable for all?
The Association, with the support of the Institution of Fire Engineers and Fire and Emergency NZ, is bringing you 4 experienced fire professionals to present on lift evacuation for people requiring assistance. This is a well overdue topic which needs some serious thought and education. We will also be having a workshoping session with Fire and Emergency NZ fire engineers and policy makers to help develop guidance for lift evacuation to comply with the the evacuation scheme regulations.
